Dear all,
We are using a Physical vCener 5.0 server, with 3 ESXi servers and a EQL iSCSI SAN.
Our vSphere SQL database is located in a VM.
Last Sun, as the power supply of our floor need terminate for 2 hours, for safe, we shut down everything, including the above server & SAN mentioned.
When the power is resume, we power on the SAN. After 5-10 minutes, we power on the 3 ESXi servers and the Physical vCenter 5.0 server.
Then, the vCenter 5.0 server is hung on the screen "Apply Computer Settings" for over 30 minutes and still keep hang.
Lucky, we had another 64 bit PC and we install the vCenter client, connect to the ESXi server and power on the VM.
During the vCenter 5.0 server hang, the server can be connected through IP and we found the the server is starting up the VMWare virtual center service at that moment, for over 30 min.
After the SQL Server with the vSphere SQL database is power on and ready, we force restart the vCenter 5.0 server and then the problem is solved.
There will have next power supply termination next week and is there any method to avoid this issue?
Ivan
