I am currently have a problem with some of my XP VM's. We have a cluster of two hosts which i upgraded to esxi5.0 recently and ever since upgrading the tools on a number of machines i have had the following problems.
Using Vsphere console have not seen a problem with RDP.
On XP but NOT on Linux or windows7
After restart of the VM then at a random time, the keyboard repeat rate goes funny ie press a key and release as fast as you can results in 20 chars in notepad window.
Can fix the problem by going to keyboard properties in the control panel and changeing the keyboard repeat rate, it does not matter what you change it to or if you change it back to where it started, the problem is gone, for a while.
The problem returns at a random time again and can be fixed in the same way.
Restarting the VM has no effect.
Restarting VCenter has no effect.
Restarting all VSphere clients has no effect.
Restarting local pc running vsphere client has no effect.
Opening two consoles on different vshpere clients on different pcs connecting to the same VM - one can have the issue and the other may not have a problem.
