I started a discussion last night in which I mentioned that "VMWare Fusion quit unexpectedly". However, on a second thought, the problem I am facing might occur to anyone and trying to understand if anyone has already addressed it.
Question is:
What will you do if your Windows 7 virtual machine does not start from VMWare Fusion even after Mac (Mountain Lion) reboots and uninstall/re-install of VMWare Fusion 5.0.1?
Assumptions:
1. Was using Windows 7 VM all these days. Installed quite a bit of windows specific applications. Stored data in windows etc. Some folders are shared with Mac and some are not.
2. VM doesnt work anymore to start Windows 7.
So, in such scenario, what is the best way to access Windows 7 or atleast get the data/folders out of windows onto a USB and copy them over to another windows system and move on with life
Please help. Any suggestions, guidance is much appreciated. I am new to Mac and VM world. My biggest mistake is I didnt make a backup of the data onto an external harddisk which I usually do but not this time. If it was a windows standalone machine, I'd have used my recovery software to recover the folders and data from the harddisk. But it being a Mac, I am not sure how to handle this.
Thanks for your time. Much appreciated.
