Uncertainty with licensing

Hi,

I'm hoping someone familiar with vSphere 5.1 licensing can help me.

I'm  looking to license 3 servers that I've virtualised with ESXi 5.1.  Each  server has 4 processors so need a total of 12 processor licensing. I  also want an instance of vCenter.

I'm ok with the Standard version of vSphere as this is just a test environment that doesn't need high availability.

I'm confused about the various options.  I don't need  operations management which seems to drive the price significantly and  doesn't offer vital features for my test environment.

So  looking at the options there is the acceleration kit which offers  licensing for 6 processors and 1 instance of vCenter but has operations  management.  Is there no version of the acceleration kit without  operations management?

They say that the acceleration kit is scalable, which I  take to mean that you can add additional vSphere licenses for more  processors.  For example, since I need 12 licenses and the kit covers  the first 6 processors I would then need the kit plus 6 additional  vSphere licenses.  If I get this acceleration kit and it only comes with  operations management I doubt I can then add more licenses that don't  come with operations management?

If the kit route  doesn't work the only other option I can think of is 12 vSphere standard  licenses without operations management plus 1 instance of vCenter  Standard.

I'd be greatful for any recommendation.

Thanks,

Mike
