I recently upgraded to WS 6.0 and my Win2K3 Server guests are very slow at establishing a network connection on startup. This is causing problems where services fail to start. The virtual network adapter is configured with NAT and when it is using DHCP to obtain an IP address, it takes approximately 5-6 minutes to connect. I gave the virtual network adapter a dedicated IP address and that has reduced the time to get a network connection down to approximately 3 minutes but this is still causing problems.
Has anyone seen this problem or can you offer any suggestions at locating the source of the problem? I have tried this on three different hosts all running WinXP Pro SP2 and/or SP3.
Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.
Regards,
John
