I have looked at the Failed VMware Workstation 9 install discussion, verified I am an administrator, cleaned out %TEMP% and looked at the registry and am still having problems. The account name being used is not Admin/Administrator or anything close.
This is a fresh install today of windows 7 with all updates applied. Avast is my Virus software. The behavior doesn't change with it running or disabled.
I believe the problem to be that KLM/Sofware/VMware Inc is not appearing. I have verified I can create keys.
During my installs I have seen: "The MSI *.msi failed" message and some other times "The MSI *.msi failed. Service VMware Authorization Service (VMAuthService) failed to start."

Can anyone provide me more insight into the problem and how to get this installed?
