Ok.
So I have this argument on going with vendor of a certain network appliance. The vendor claims their product requires 8GB on a physical server, and 8GB on a virtual. Subsequent network stress tests proove the application uses a maxium of 3GB with millions of hits per second... Our production net traffic isn't even close to producing that kind stress. So the question is, when converting this system to virtual, does it really require the 8gb of RAM the vendor claims, or am I right in my argument to supply the VM with adequete 4GB base? I'm just trying to get the vendor to realize their product requirements are highy inflated even on a physical machine the actual resources are under utilized.
