Hi, I used to have Workstation 7.1.2 installed on my Ubuntu 10.10. I upgraded to 11.04 a few days ago and it doesn't work anymore.

Tried uninstalling it but:

# vmware-installer -u vmware-workstation --console
All configuration information is about to be removed. Do you wish to
keep your configuration files? [yes]:

Uninstalling VMware Workstation 7.1.2

[######################################################################] 100%
Uninstallation was unsuccessful.

Same thing without the console option, same thing after answering "no".

Then downloaded Workstation 7.1.4 and tried installing it:

# ./vmware.bundle --console
Extracting VMware Installer...done.
You must accept the VMware VIX API End User License Agreement to
continue.  Press Enter to proceed.

Do you agree? [yes/no]:         yes

The product is ready to be installed.  Press Enter to begin
installation or Ctrl-C to cancel.

Uninstalling VMware Workstation 7.1.2

[######################################################################] 100%
Installation was unsuccessful.

Also tried without console, fails.

Then tried installing Player  3.1.4:

# ./vp.bundle  --console
Extracting VMware Installer...done.
Component vmware-workstation 7.1.2 has unsatisfied dependency: vmware-
player-app=3.1.2

Which is strange...

Other useful info:

# uname -a
Linux perseus 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

What else info do I need to provide?

Offcourse I've searched in Ubuntu and VMware forums but noone has the exact problem solved...

Any ideas? I'm totally stuck!

Thanks!!!
