Hello, I have an ESXi 5.1 Host run with: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, AMD 3 GHz Phenom II, 16GB RAM
1 PCI video card for display the console config screen
1 PCI video card to do passthrough / VMdirectPath
Win 7 pro x64 is installed on another PC (Intel i7 2.7GHz, 6GB RAM); vSphere Client is installed inside this Win 7 Pro x64 and connect to ESXi (See image) another Win 7 is installed as a VM on the ESXi
After configuring Passthrough in vSphere Client and install driver for PCIe card in VM Win 7. PCIe video card Passthrough is configured successfully with the VM.
Now, I do not want to use vSphere Client, I do not want to have a VM.
I want to use the PCIe video card (physical on Host EXSi) from the Win 7 pro x64 (the real Win 7 on top of my Intel i7, not the VM).
Is this possible?
Is there any way to do passthough from ESXi to a real PC (not to a VM on EXSi)?
How?
I think it is possible to connect to EXSi from a PC via TCP/IP, scan EXSi host and get control of the PCIe bus/card from ESXi.
I do not have any clue, please discuss
