Hello,
Can someone explain me the user area part in an "upload policy" ? I don't really understand the main differences between "User area" and "Unprotected area".
This is what I understood:
For the "Unprotected area": all files that are not in the "Rules" or are in a "Rule exceptions" field are uploaded to the CVD. So if it's the case, what's the role of the user area rule.
The documentation says "the administrator list the subset of protected files and directories belonging to the endpoint users, such as document files".
To test the "User area", I enter an "Exception rules" which is the following:
"%anyuserprofile%\Desktop\*.bmp" (recursively). With a domain user account, I put a .bmp and a .png on the desktop and "synch now". To test if the .bmp wasn't upload to the CVD, I use the "File Restore" and see the .bmp file was uploaded. Is it because of the "Unprotected area" upload all files that aren't listed as a Rule ?
