75 gig of vmdk files in vista guest

I started the thread quoted below several days ago and the consensus was the files could be safely deleted. However no matter what method is tried (using file explorer, cmd prompt with administrator privileges ) I get a permission error message and cannot delete the files. I realize this is a windows 10 problem but maybe some of you have seen this problem before. Any suggestions?

PS: the name of these files is Windows Vista X64 edition-s056.vmdk through s093.vmdk they are all 2.095 gig in size.

<<Running workstation pro version 10 on win10 host, have xp guest and vista guest. On the vista guest there are 75gig of vmdk files in the /user/me/appdata/local/temp/vmware-me directory. From the date on this directory it looks like it was created the last time I shutdown and rebooted this guest. Can I delete these files? Will they go away the next time I reboot this guest? Most of the files are 2.096 meg in size with a .vmdk extension. The xp guest does not have these files. This vista guest was created from a physical vista installation running on my laptop which was showing signs of eminent death.>>

Thanks for your input

Dennis
