Bought Fusion 5 pro and can't get the VMware Tools to install

Bought a new iMac and purchased Fusion 5 Pro.  I have a 5 year old iMac and upgraded Fusion 4 to Fusion 5 and had no problems.  The new computer is for my wife and I tried and tried to migrate the laptop and it failed every time.  So I did a clean install of Windows 7 and before I uploaded anything I installed VMWare Tools.  For the last 2 days I have been moving files over from the laptop and installing the programs that she had on the laptop.  Having trouble with excel and Word as they sit a spin.  Went to re-install VMware Tools and it launches the installer and then comes up with an error message.......Error 1606: Could Not Access Network Location \\<host>\users\administrator\mydocuments

Went into Windows to uninstall VMware tools and it started the uninstaller and then stopped and got the same message.  I can't uninstall Tools and can't re-install tools.  I need assistance in fixing this problem.  I am a plug and play guy and if there is code to do I think I am sunk.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this so I can get up and going?
