4.6.1 SSL Certificate Change

$

At the moment, I am running an instance of VMware View 4.6.1. It currently has a SHA1 SSL certificate configured. I have an existing SHA256 certificate that I would like to replace the SHA1. After researching some methods and documentation, I have been unsuccessful in making this switch.

Under C:/Program Files/VMware View/Server/sslgateway/conf it looks like the vdm.p12 file is what I need to change. The timestamp on this file matches the start date on my SHA1 certificate down to the minute. How do I go about making my new SHA256 certificate work with this file?

Thanks

How to create a report of ESXi Patch install data?

$

I am trying to audit our hosts for which patches are installed and when they were installed.  I have been able to get SOME data using get-esxcli but it appears the data I get gives only incremental data, and that's not useful.  For example, if light-tools 1.0 was installed in October, and then light tools 2.0 was installed in April, I would like both to show up, with the date (and time if possible) that they were installed, not just light-tools 2.0, and have light-tools 1.0 as if it never happened.  It seems like this is a pretty run of the mill task, but I've spent a lot of time on it, and still not gotten anywhere useful. I can look at the esxupdate.log, but they are not easy to read/decipher into usable data.   There are loads of ways to do this with Microsoft patches, so I find it surprising that it's so difficult in the VM environment.

Any help would be appreciated!

Our hosts are running 5.1 and our VSphere is 5.5

Hello

We are trying to make Enterprise installation on vRealize 7 Automation.

However, we have error in Initial Content Configuration:

The initial content configuration failed at step: "Execute workflow to configure initial content". See the log file /var/log/messages for more details. It can be retried with the "Retry failed" button bellow.

When looking /var/log/messages, that doesn't help much:

Open An Application on Host From Guest OS

I have VMWare Fusion 7.1.3 running on Mac OSX Yosemite.   I have a Windows application that I use for work that has some plugins that can launch a Firefox browser and an email client in the Windows VM from within the application.  There is not an option to run the application under OSX natively.  I'm wondering if there's a way to launch the browser and/or email on the Mac side.  This way I don't have to maintain a second browser profile in Windows and keep passwords, etc updated, and this particular application is all I use the Windows VM for, at least on a daily basis.

Integration with vROps

I have tried integrating Log Insight 3.3.1 with vROps 6.2

I have a 3 node cluster with ILB setup. The integration was successful, but the link that shows up in vROps points to the Log insight hostname (not fqdn) of the node I tried to integrate it from.

Is there a way to change the links in vROps that point to LogInsight to point to the ILB fqdn or the fqdn of the master?

In my production enviroment every works perfekt. Now I want to deploy a proxy agent and a worker in my test and connect it to my vra 7, is this possible without a trust of the domains? Does someone have a best practise guide for this or is it unsupported?

My enviroment:

-ESXi 5.5

-vra 7.0.1

Test:

vCenter 5.5

-ESXi 5.5

How should we get the support bundle for IaaS components of vRA 7?

Create a Support Bundle for vRealize Automation

According to the documentation centre, the log collection utility is appropriate to get the support bundle for IaaS component.

However, this tool seems not to be updated for vRA7 as follows:

I tried to use this log collection utility for vRA 7,  but the logs wasn't collected expectedly.

Can the following be solution for this?

As test, I tried to provision with a blueprint including only 'on-demand routing network'. I expect that the logical router is provisioned, but the results is failed. I got the messages as follows:

Allocate reservation operation failed for business group BG. No reservation available that has all specified network profiles: Transit assigned to any distributed logical router network paths.; Infrastructure service provider error:

Is there anyone who can provision with a blueprint including only 'on-demand routing network'? It is appreciated if you could teach me the way to do this.

One of my client has this requirement In Blueprint 1 wants two reservations visibility that is reservation1 and reservation and that i can provide by adding both the reservations in the same reservation policy 1. But In blueprint 2 wants to use only reservation 2 and as i knew one reservation can only be linked with one reservation policy. I want to know is there any method to satisy this requirement of my customer?

DHCP Server will not start - The storage control block address is invalid.

I am running a trial version of Workstation Pro 12.1.1 on Windows 10. I seem to have an odd issue where the DHCP service will not start.

I tried going into the Virtual Network Editor then restoring defaults which had no effect.

The event viewer shows the following:

CreateFile Version ioctl(): VMnet8 (327680 393216): The operation completed successfully.

/ The storage control block address is invalid

Checked the service and it is running as a local system account, checked permissions on the dhcp config / lease file in c:\programdata\vmware\ and both have system set to full control. I tried to run the vmnetdhcp.exe in a command prompt to hopefully get some additional information, but can't be ran directly. I can't figure out how to get the dhcp server to output verbose logging in order to track down what the culprit may be.

I tried to uninstall workstation, reboot, reinstall, reboot without success as well. I did have version 9 of Workstation that was installed previously, in which the trial upgraded.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My computer is Intel NUC5PPYH, the processor is a 14nm Pentium n3700.

Hardware: Intel® NUC Kit NUC5PPYH Specifications

According to the official website of the information, VT-x/VT-d are supported.

but i install ESXi, stop on "Relocating modules and starting up the kernel"

I tried many methods:

1, Change different ESXi versions 5.1,5.5,6.0.

2,Upgrade BIOS, set the BIOS boot mode, set the video card memory size.

3, Press Shift + O before installation and enter ignoreHeadless = TRUE.

4, Usb disk ISO, PXE boot ISO.

The above methods fail

Log Insight Upgrade to 3.3.1 issues!

I'm doing some testing on the upgrade procedure from 3.0 to 3.3.1. When I connect to the master node IP address and import the pak file after a while it tells me the upgrade is sucessfull and to the monitor the cluster status. I click on the cluster status and see the second node is now upgrading... After a few mins the admin web page for the master node is now unresponsive!  When I connect to third node and look at the cluster status,  all nodes are showing version 3.0 and status connected, it seems the upgrade is hung or something!

6.2.1 and Catia issue

$

We run Catia to open files from customers. Have a shared license server and everything works great on 5.2 Horizon View.

But, Im moving over to 6.2.1 and the new drivers for both Vmware tools and 6.2.1 agent dont allow Catia to even start up.

running PCoIP on Samsung Zero clients in a floating linked clone pool.

I think its a display driver issue maybe.

Is it possible to run my older agent and make it work on 6.2.1?

I read about TLS1.0 and making some regedits, so 6.2.1 can talk to older client/agent, but not sure if I want to go down this route.

Just throwing out some ideas and seeing if anybody else had simliar issues with 6.2.1.

Can I use vSphere replication to take a VM on one datastore under vCenter, and replicate it to another datastore that is under the same vCenter?

Thanks!
