Anyone seen an issue with vmware on cisco ucs where the hosts disconnect from vcenter during a fabric interconnect reboot? Our setup is Two fabric interconnect that connect to chassis with b200 blade servers. We did a ucs upgrade and when one of our FI's rebooted, half of our hosts went to not responding in vcenter. They came back to normal after the FI came back up. I do not believe any vms disconnected. our vmware esxi hosts are 6.7u3, vcenter version 6.7u3F

Windows 10 20H1 and VMware 15.5.6
Hello,
With Windows 10 20H1 and VMware 15.5.6
My processor is a Core i7-990X and supports vitualization Intel VT-x.
Below the error if Hyper-V is enabled otherwise if Hyper-V is disabled the VMware VMs work without problems.
So these errors are not real since without Hyper-V it works normally.
How to solve this bug?
Error:
This host does not support Intel VT-x.
This host does not support "Intel EPT" hardware assisted MMU virtualization.
The processor does not support XSAVE. This virtual machine cannot be power on.
VMWare vCenter cannor run power-on script successfully
Hello,
I cannot login to our vCenter 6.0 with Internet Explorer and I receive an error. I tried to upgrade the VMWare Tools with the following steps:
1. Inventory
2. Virtual Machine
3. Guest
4. Install / Upgrade VMWare Tools
I restarted the vCenter VM but the VM Tools were not upgraded. I received and error in the Events Log which you can see on the attached
screenshot. Then I setup the VM Tools to be upgraded automatically during the VM restart with the below steps:
1. Edit virtual machine settings
2. Options
3. VMWare Tools
4. Check and upgrade Tools during power cycling - selected
5. OK
I power off and then power on the vCenter virtual machine but the tools again were not updated. Then I tried to login with SSH client to this
vCenter VM. When I login there I received the message "Error connecting to the server". I was not able to execute any Linux commands.
The log files are attached to this post. Can you please help me to fix our vCenter 6.0 virtual machine ?
Vcenter 6.5 Update Manager. The host returns esxupdate error code:99.
I am getting the following message when i try to remediate or stage VMware Updates.
The host returns esxupdate error code:99. An unhandled exception was encountered. Check the Update Manager log files and esxupdate log files for more details.
Im not sure what log file i need to post... is it "vmware-vum-server-log4cpp.log.1"?
Bridged networking stopped working with macOS 10.15.6 and Fusion 11.5.6
I haven't touched any of the settings; this stopped working behind my back sometime in the last few days. The system otherwise sits headless running VMs and nothing else.
I think I've likely been hit by the crash issue in the other thread, since I noticed the VMs stopped responding, and after I logged in with VNC it had rebooted itself. While the VMs were running, none were accessible over the network, and looking more closely it looks like Bridged ethernet connections appear in the VMs as being "Not connected":
The left is the configuration of one of the VMs (they are all the same--Bridged ethernet, so they all have global IPv6 addresses). The right is the network configuration inside the VM. Says "Not connected".
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the adapter using Fusion, but the guest didn't notice any change, so I'm not sure where this "Not connected" state is coming from--the ethernet is physically connected on the host and working properly. And it's also "connected" within Fusion as far as I can see.
The networking is working fine on the host, and the guests were all running just fine up until a few days back. I installed the latest VMware fusion updates, and also the latest macOS supplemental update, but it didn't make any difference.
Has anyone else seen any similar issues with current macOS and current Fusion releases, or have any suggestions as to what might have gone wrong?
Thanks all.
Roger
vCenter 7.0 Appliance Could not Connect Error
Hello,
I have a vCenter 7 appliance, standalone, that is giving the error Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems:https://vcenterappliancename:443/sdk . At first, the appliance was in emergency mode. I ran a filesystem command to check and repair any issues. After a reboot the appliance came up properly, but am now having this error. Any suggestions how to correct this? Thanks.
The VAPI health url vapiendpoint/health shows the following errors:

xExpanding disks
What happens when you create an insane amount of HD space for the virtual hard drive., much more than that on the host? Given you can do this on expanding disks, because the "used space" is only filled as needed, does this mean regardless of what Windows says, you'll always run into the host's limitation ?
e.g Windows 2012 server below | 120 Gig on boot disk in VMWare Fusion| 5.74TB free on extended.
But on MacOS SSD is only 250Gig capacity
Swap file guidance
Hi all,
Our current setup is the following, Windows 10 1809, 6GB of memory(100% reserved) and 2vCPU. All are Instant Clones running on a vSAN environment with dedup+compression enabled. Every now and then we'd get reports of people getting booted out of VDI, but haven't had a chance to really dig into the issue till recent. What we learned was the machine runs out of virtual memory, then blast crashes, thus booting the user out of their session. We've heard years ago from an instructor that you shouldn't use a swap file, and you should reserve 100% memory. Does this best practice still hold true today?
Thanks,
Mike
RDM compatibility mode Physical to virtual
Hi All,
Looking for your valid suggestions,
want to modify the RDM (Physical) compatibility mode from physical to virtual in 2 VMs configured with MSCluster services, where the VM's can be migrated (vMotion) if the hosts down.
Take the Vm's down to modify Physical to Virtual but the option is grayed out.
Could you please suggest me with any solution here.

Desktop Pool Information
Hi guys,
I am trying to make a script with two requirements
1) Get the count of total , available , connected and disconnected sessions of single desktop pool.
2) Get the usernames and duration of the connected session in that desktop pool.
Am done with first point and dont know how to do with the second.
Here is what I did:
$pool = Read-host "Enter the pool name"
$tmp = Get-HVPool -PoolName $pool | Select -ExpandProperty base | Select -expandproperty name | % {Get-HVMachineSummary -PoolName $_| Select -ExpandProperty base | Select name,basicstate}
$Results = New-Object PSObject -Property @{
"Available" = ($tmp | where {$_.basicstate -eq "AVAILABLE"});
"Connected" = ($tmp | where {$_.basicstate -eq "CONNECTED"});
"Disconnected" = ($tmp | where {$_.basicstate -eq "DISCONNECTED"});}
$Available = ($Results.Available).Count
$Connected = ($Results.Connected).Count
$Disconnected = ($Results.Disconnected).Count
$Total = $tmp.Count
write-host "Total Systems in the pool are:" $Total
write-host "Available Systems in the pool are:" $Available
write-host "Connected Systems in the pool are:" $Connected
write-host "Diconnected Systems in the pool are:" $Disconnected
#End
Any Help?

Autopilot Automated Enrollment into WS1 only working for certain Users
We have AAD integrated with WS1 so we can use Autopilot and its automated enrollment feature for our Windows 10 devices. the integration works great for me and several others but I've also had people like our IT director and a few other IT team members try setting up a Dell computer enrolled in Autopilot but they get the following error "Unable to find user in Active Directory. The affected users do exist in AD and we can also search for them successfully when testing the LDAP connection in UEM. We've tried a few different immutable ID's to see if that was the issue but they always get that error after inputing their email and password. Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue
Sound breaking really bad after update but video is better!!
After the last update I noticed an improvement on video quality and performance since it runs with Hyper-V features now, specially in Windows XP, I remember video was laggy, but after the update is better!!, but now SOUND in many Windows OS is breaking a lot, and suddenly I get a message saying "sorry but audio will be now disconnected" I hope you can make a follow up on this
Trim support in virtual machines, of VMware Workstation Player and VMware Workstation Pro
Hello all,
I am testing VMware Workstation Player, and VMware Workstation Pro, current version 15.5.6.
I created a Windows 10 64-bit virtual machine, and two Linux virtual machines.
Linux fstrim, and Windows 10 retrim of free space, do not seem to work.
My question is, does trim work when deleting files in virtual machines, by informing the host SSD for the unallocated space?
Just for comparison, trim works in VirtualBox virtual machines, if you run once in Host OS, the command:
vboxmanage storageattach "virtual machine name" --storagectl "SATA" --port 0 --type hdd --medium "virtual hard disk name.vdi" --nonrotational on --discard on
When you run fstrim / retrim free space, or delete files, in the Guest OS, the virtual hard disk gets resized, and the Host SSD gets informed of the unallocated space.
Thank you a lot.

Slow initialization of VMs on Ryzen Threadripper 3960X
Hi
I've just moved from an Intel i7-6700K to an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and have noticed that the initial startup process is extremely slow (5-10min) once it's started everything works fine and a reboot is as quick as before.
The same slow initialization happens when the VM is turned off or suspended, it takes 5-10min (extremely random) for the VM to get to the "Windows 10"-load screen.
Anyone having the same or similar issues or know a reason for this?
I'm running VMWare Workstation 15.5.1 and have attached the log.
